Rascan joins the anCnoc Peaty Collection

anCnoc Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky has unveiled the highly-anticipated, new addition to the Peaty Collection – the dark and smoky Rascan.

Named after a traditional peat cutting tool, responsible for the unmistakable, robust character of the finished product, Rascan is the fourth global release in the award-winning collection which has delighted fans and critics since its launch in 2014.

As with all peated malts, on the nose the new expression has plentiful depth and smokiness, but also honey sweetness, refreshing green apple and zesty accents of orange and lemon so typical of anCnoc.

To taste, sweet and spicy notes of vanilla and honey are carried forward at the first sip. Hints of toffee then push through, outlined by subtle spices and a smooth leathery undertone. The finish is floral yet pleasantly smoky.

Matured in American oak ex-bourbon barrels for nearly a decade, Rascan has a phenol content of 11.1 parts per million (ppm).

Launching with only 3,000 cases worldwide, it follows the Peaty Collection’s tradition of using dark and striking packaging to reflect the spirit of the liquid. A green glass bottle features an eye-catching black label with foil illustration of the traditional Rascan tool.
